God's Faithfulness to Israel

ISA 14:1 The LORD will have compassion on Jacob;
once again he will choose Israel
and will settle them in their own land.
Aliens will join them
and unite with the house of Jacob.
ISA 14:2 Nations will take them
and bring them to their own place.
And the house of Israel will possess the nations
as menservants and maidservants in the LORD's land.
They will make captives of their captors
and rule over their oppressors.

Read Isaiah today and was again amazed by the faithfulness of God towards His chosen people. Isaiah 14:1-2 is such a clear example of God's promise and prophecy fulfilled in our times. The re-creation of the country of Israel IS a miracle never seen before in history. That other nations (led by the United Sates and Great Britain after WW2, and sanctioned by the United Nations), will take the Jews and bring them back to their own land is so incredible to comprehend. It can only be a miracle of God to fulfill his promise and prophecy to His people.

And looking at what's happening in the West Bank now and looking back at Isaiah 14:2, it is not far from the truth, that right or wrong, Israel is ruling over their oppressors.

And in the current financial, commercial and industrial world today, if we are to look at the list of prominant financiers, industrialists, owners of mega-corporations, neither is it an understatement to say that Jacob's descendants do possess a huge share of the known world's wealth.

And what am I reminded of from all these? God's faithfulness, towards His people who have so often turned against Him, and still rejects His Son.

Read Romans 11 and Paul described so clearly God's unfailing love and faithfulness towards Israel.

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
"Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?"
"Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?"
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

What a faithful God we serve!

"if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself." (2Tit 2:13)
